My friend’s dad recently moved to Pompano, so I’ve been playing tour guide, taking them around to all the local spots. J Marks isn’t the obvious pick, it’s not the place that jumps to mind first. But it was rainy, we wanted indoor seating, and I’d only been twice before, so I figured why not. Best decision of the week.We went full appetizer buffet at the table , ahi tuna (my friend officially declared the best she’s ever had, and she doesn’t hand that out lightly), and mussels in a sauce so good it could go toe-to-toe with any top Italian kitchen, with just the right kick of spice. High praise since her dad is Italian and doesn’t hand out Italian-sauce compliments easily either. I don’t even eat mussels and I was fighting for bread to mop it up and the kitchen had our back, sending out garlic bread with the mussels, then the waitress swooped in with an extra basket of piping hot homemade rolls just for sauce duty. We also ordered the calamari, lightly fried and perfectly crisp, with her dad specifically requesting “as many tentacles as possible”, he said it was the most tentacle action he’s gotten at a restaurant in years. My Wife, sin and I recently dined here, and im giving it a 4.5 out of 5 stars. We started with the calamari—crisp, perfectly seasoned, and a great opening act. For the mains, we ordered both the skirt steak and the NY strip; both cuts were executed beautifully, packed with flavor, and cooked to an absolute turn. Delicious food and good service.

Took my fiance here for the first time for Father's Day... now let's just say he wants to come back very soon LOL. The cajun prime rib MR was the best he's ever had, we love the bread and honey butter. The tuna tartare was so delicious and my chicken francha with the zucchini noodles was awesome! And of course we couldn't fit anything else in our stomachs but we had to get the five-layer carrot cake to go and no he could not wait LOL he had a couple bites in the car and was in love. There were two bartenders at the bar, Sage was one of them and I don't remember the gentleman's name but they were fantastic and attentive.

This place is amazing!! From the service, food, atmosphere, it all just blended well!! We had the pleasure of having Makaya take care of us today and he nailed it. Very knowledgeable of menu and the specials of the day. Service was quick but di not feel rushed at all. Also had the opportunity to speak to Karla, one of the managers, she was welcoming and super friendly. Will definitely come back soon!!

I had a wonderful experience at J. Mark’s Restaurant on a Friday night. From the moment we were seated, our waitress was professional, attentive, and truly knowledgeable about the menu. She made excellent recommendations, and every item we tried exceeded expectations. The food was outstanding please pass along my compliments to the chef, because everything was prepared to perfection. You could tell there was real care and consistency in the kitchen that night. Even with the busy Friday evening atmosphere, the service remained smooth and welcoming. It made the entire dining experience feel relaxed and enjoyable. I’ll definitely be returning and highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great food and top-tier service.
